H.R.H. PRINCESS CAMILLA OF BOURBON TWO SICILIES, DUCHESS OF CASTRO, AT THE 2016 “PRIX DES PRINCES” FOR LITERATURE

Paris, April 2016.  H.R.H. Princess Camilla of Bourbon Two Sicilies, one of the judges of the Second Edition of the “Prix des Princes” for Literature, contributed in selecting the winner of  the prestigious prize for which three literary works had been shortlisted.

Later on, a splendid dinner was organized by H.R.H. the Duchess of Castro in honour of the winner, Mme Sylvie Yvert.

H.R.H. PRINCE CHARLES OF BOURBON TWO SICILIES, DUKE OF CASTRO, IN NAPLES FOR THE SOLEMNITY OF SAINT GEORGE

Naples, 23rd – 24th April 2016.  H.R.H. Prince Charles of Bourbon Two Sicilies, Duke of Castro and Grand Master of the Constantinian Order, went to visit Naples to attend the solemnity of Saint George the Martyr, Patron of the Sacred Military Constantinian Order of Saint George.

The 23rd April was an eventful and busy day for H.R.H. Prince Charles of Bourbon Two Sicilies who, accompanied by the Delegate for Naples and Campania, Marquis Don Pierluigi Sanfelice di Bagnoli, visited the city of Pompei.

Afterwards, H.R.H. Prince Charles of Bourbon Two Sicilies visited and inaugurated the Pompei Polyclinic, one of the “social voluntary” units which is most responsive to the needs of the region.

At 6 p.m., a solemn Eucharistic Ceremony with the Investiture Rite of new Knights and Dames was held at the Constantinian Pontifical Basilica of San Francesco da Paola.  The ceremony was presided over by the Prior of the Delegation, the Most Reverend Father Damiano La Rosa, Ecclesiastical Knight Commander of Grace.

On Sunday, 24th April, at 11.45, he visited the Basilica of Santa Lucia a Mare where H.R.H. Prince Charles of Bourbon Two Sicilies hosted a lunch for the poorer members of the community of Pallonetto Santa Lucia and, through the Constantinian Order, was “actually near” a poor family of Pallonetto and hand over a cheque to Father Giuseppe Carmelo for the purchase of an iron door.

H.E. the Grand Inquisitor, Don Fabrizio Cononna of the Princes of Paliano was also present during these two very busy and eventful days.

HONORAY DOCTORATE CONFERRED TO PRINCESS CAMILLA OF BOURBON TWO SICILIES, DUCHESS OF CASTRO

Milan, 16th April 2016.  H.R.H. Princess Camilla of Bourbon Two Siciles, Duchess of Castro, has received an Honorary Doctorate at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart , Milan, from the Instituto Mexicano de Lideres de Excelencia and an Honorary Doctorate from the Universidad Instituto Americano Cultural S.C.

This important international award is given to people who distinguish themselves in the field of Science, Art and Culture and who work towards reducing social inequalities.

H.E. AMEENAH GURIB-FAKIM, PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF MAURITIUS, IS AWARDED THE ROYAL ORDER OF FRANCIS I

Paris, 28th March 2016.  H.R.H. Prince Charles of Bourbon Two Sicilies, Duke of Castro and Grand Master of the Dynastic Orders of the House of Bourbon, privately bestowed the high honour of the Royal Order of Francis I with grade of Dame Grand Cross to H.E. the President of the Republic of Mauritius, Ameenah Gurib-Fakim, GCSK, CSK, PhD.

The Royal Order of Francis I was founded in 1829 by His Majesty King Francis I to reward civil merit to those who distinguished themselves in the arts and science and for special merits acquired by virtue of their unique commitment in the defence of human rights.

H.E. the President of the Republic of Mauritius, through her important role and for the work carried out as a Biodiversity scientist, has unveiled the nutritive values present in the plants of her island, a discovery that has led to innovations in the fields of medicine and nutrition.

This award event was attended by various Authorities.

This morning the Kingdom of Belgium and the city of Brussels were hit two times by a cowardly attack that caused the death of numerous people.  Following this event I wanted to send to Your Majesty my most heartfelt condolences and express my profound sorrow and solidarity during this terrible time that affects our hearts and our souls.

I have no doubt that Your Government and the people of Belgium will overcome this bloody attack with great courage and determination as they have always done in the course of their history.

Please accept, Sire, the assurance of my faithful attachment and support and my affection for Your people.

H.R.H. PRINCE CHARLES OF BOURBON TWO SICILIES VISIT THE AMERICAN-SCANDINAVIAN FOUNDATION

New York, 10th March 2016.  H.R.H. Prince Charles of Bourbon Two Sicilies, among his numerous commitments during his stay in New York, paid a visit to the American-Scandinavian Foundation, accompanied by Dr. Giosetta Capriati and John Viola, Delegate of the Sacred Military Constantinian Order of Saint George for the United States.

Here he was received by the Chairman of the Foundation, Dr. Edward P. Gallagher, who shed light on the cultural, vocational and economic exchange and training programmes carried out by this important institution.

T.R.H. PRINCE CHARLES AND PRINCESS CAMILLA OF BOURBON TWO SICILIES VISIT THE NEW YORK PUBLIC LIBRARY

New York, 10th March 2016. T.R.H. Prince Charles and Princess Camilla of Bourbon Two Sicilies, Duke and Duchess of Castro, paid a visit to the New York Public Library where they were met by the Chairman, Mr. Anthony Marx and Mrs. Christine Schwarzman who accompanied  them on a guided tour of what is one of the biggest Libraries in the world and which was recently dedicated to the philanthropist Stephen A. Schwarzman.

T.R.H. were accompanied by the Delegate of the Constantinian Order for the United States, John Viola, and Dr. Giosetta Capriati.

New York, 10th March 2016.  T.R.H. Prince Charles and Princess Camilla of Bourbon Two Sicilies, Duke and Duchess of Castro, accompanied by Dr. Giosetta Capriati and John Viola, Delegate of the Constantinian Order for the United States, were received by Bill De Blasio, Mayor of New York.

During the meeting, the Mayor, who expressed his enthusiasm for the activities that are being organized under the aegis of the Constantinian Order, addressed a series of initiatives that could be jointly implemented in New York and Naples with the involvement of the influential Italo-American community of New York of which he is a representative.

Mr. Secretary General, Mrs. Ban Soon-Taek, Your Excellencies, Ladies  and Gentlemen, I am very happy to be here today with my husband and children, to march with all of  you, women and men, for peace, for tolerance , for justice, for human rights for ALL. We can no longer be silent , we can no longer tolerate the violence that is perpetrated every single day against women all over the world! We need to speak loud and clear, as we are doing today and have our voice heard in every corner of the planet. If we are all united, we can make a difference!!! and thank you  again, Mrs. Ban Soon-Taek, for having started this March, you lead the way! Let’s go….

“UNWFPA’s HUMANITARIAN AWARD” TO H.R.H. PRINCESS CAMILLA OF BOURBON TWO SICILIES, DUCHESS OF CASTRO

New York, 4th March, 2016.  H.R.H. Princess Camilla of Bourbon Two Sicilies, Duchess of Castro, has received the prestigious Humanitarian Award during a ceremony that took place at the United Nations Headquarters, in New York, on the occasion of the International Women’s Day celebration. This Award is given annually to personalities in the world of culture, entrepreneurship and politics, who have particularly distinguished themselves in charitable and social work.  This year the Award went to H.R.H. Princess Camilla of Bourbon Two Sicilies, Duchess of Castro, for “her intense social and charitable activities in support of disadvantaged children”. During the ceremony, was awarded H.E. Ban Ki Moon, UN Secretary General, , H.E. Mrs. Ban Soon-Taek (Mrs. Ban Ki-Moon), Patron of the UN Women for Peace Association.

The Award was organized by the UN Women for Peace Association, founded in 2008, which helps to advance projects and goals of United Nations agencies that provide opportunities to women to partake in the global peace building process through social, cultural and educational programmes.

Her Royal Highness’ speech:

” Mr. Secretary General, Mrs. Ban Soon-Taek, Your Excellencies, Ladies and Gentlemen, I am humbled and honored to be here today, in this prestigious Institution,  surrounded by so many people who have devoted their lives to fight violence against women and children and am simply overwhelmed by the Award I am granted by the UN Women for Peace Association, to which I am deeply grateful. Congratulations, Mr. Secretary General, for your Award, that acknowledges  the major role you have been playing in this Institution for the last NINE years with such commitment and success. And congratulations also to you, Mrs. Ban Soon-Taek, who have had the courage and vision to start this valuable Association. Many thanks also to you, Muna Rihani, who are the driving force behind this organization. This Award will give me even more energy to continue fighting for women all over  the world, for their rights, their safety and the ones of their children. I would like to thank my mother and my husband, who are here today and have always given me  their support and  encouragement in all my undertakings. I look very much forward to marching with all of you tomorrow and will bring my  two little girls, because I want them to learn at an early age the meaning of peace, tolerance and justice for all.
