sua-altezza-reale-la-principessa-camilla-di-borbone-delle-due-sicilie-presso-il-duomo-durante-il-miracolo-di-san-gennaroDevotion, excellence, traditions and charity were the principal aspects of the visit to Naples by Prince Charles of Bourbon and Princess Camilla from 18 to 20 September. New Neapolitan experiences for the heirs of the Bourbons Two Sicilies during the feast of San Gennaro in the former capital of the kingdom. On Monday, September 19, Charles and Camilla of Bourbon took part in the religious ceremony of the miracle of San Gennaro, the patron saint of the city, celebrated by Cardinal Sepe in the Duomo. In the afternoon they visited the Bourbon Chapel of Santa Chiara to deliver several scholarships for the school children of the Neapolitan suburbs and to pay homage to the remains of the representatives of a dynasty that made Naples and the South great. They then walked through Spaccanapoli and visited the shops of the artists-craftsmen of San Gregorio Armeno to purchase items for a Neapolitan crèche for the Princesses Maria Carolina, Duchess of Calabria and Maria Chiara, Duchess of Capri. Master Craftsman Aldo Vucai presented the Princes with a composition (“Tradition”) depicting an elderly Pulcinella offering his mask to a young Pulcinella. The statuettes are placed on a base made from wood of the stage of the San Carlino Theatre, where one of the last great Pulcinellas performed, Antonio Petito. The Neo Bourbons donated to the Duke of Castro a statuette of the great Charles of Bourbon in commemoration of the Third Centenary of his birth (1716-2016): from Charles to Charles up to the young Maria Carolina in a never-ending tradition of history and affection …
The Duke and Duchess of Castro then went to the Cardarelli Hospital to make a donation to the Quality Health Care Association which rewards the excellences of southern medical care.
