Wedding of HRH Prince Ferdinand of Bourbon Two Sicilies and Chantal of the Earls of Chevron-Villette

His late Royal Highness Prince Ferdinand of Bourbon Two Sicilies (de jure, Ferdinand IV) was Duke of Castro and Grand Master of the Dynastic Orders from 1973(when he succeeded his father, Prince Rainer) to 20 March 2008 when he died surrounded by the affection of his family. His Late Royal Highness was born in Podzameze on 28 May 1926and was the first member of the Royal House to serve in the French army. He married in 1949H.R.H. Princess Chantal of the Counts of Chevron Villette, Dame Grand Cross of Justice of the Order of malta. H.R.H. Princess Chantal was born in Le Cannet des Maures on 10 January 1925 and died in Paris on 24 May 2005.

From this marriage Their Royal Highnesses had three children:
1) HRH Princess Beatrice of Bourbon Two Sicilies (born 1950)
2) HRH Princess Anna of Bourbon Two Sicilies (born 1957)
3) HRH Prince Carlo of Bourbon Two Sicilies Who is the Present Head of the Royal House of the Bourbon Two Sicilies and Duke of Castro, Grand Master of the Illustrious Order of San Gennaro, Grand Master of the Sacred Military Constantinian Order of St. George, Grand Master of the Royal Order of Francis I, Grand Master of the Royal Military Order of St. George and Reunion, Grand Master of the Royal Order of St.Ferdinand and Merit.

His Royal Highness was born in Saint-Raphaël on 24 February 1963 and studied at the Institute of the Marist Fathers in Toulon and later at the College Stanislas in Nice,France. After studying at the Université Internationale Libre of Paris, the Duke of Castro worked for three years in New York in a leading public relations company. Returning to Italy, His Royal Highness carried out several professional activities at leading Italian industries and corporations. The Duke of Castro is fluent in Italian, French and English.
For many years now he has taken a keen and active role in the management and direction of his Family’s businesses and estates. As Grand Prefect, The Duke of Castro has been personally managing the charitable, humanitarian, hospitaller and spiritual activities of the Sacred Military Constantinian Order of Saint George in Italy as well as internationally. His Royal Highness The Duke of Castro has been awarded numerous state and dynastic orders including: Bailiff Knight Grand Cross of Honour and Devotion - Sovereign Military Order of Malta, Knight Grand Cross of Merit of the Italian Republic - Italian Republic, Syrian Order of Outstanding Merit (First Class) - Syrian Arab Republic, Lebanese Order of Merit (Extraordinary Class) – Lebanese Republic, Order of Unification – 22 May (First Class with Collar) - Republic of Yemen, Knight Grand Cross of the National Order of Juan Mora Fernandez - Republic of Costa Rica, Knight Grand Cross of the Order of Vasco Nunez Balboa - Republic of Panama



THR the Duke and Duchess of Castro and THR the Duke and Duchess of Calabria.

Her Royal Highness the Duchess of Castro, a daughter of an Italian industrialist, was born in Rome on 5 April 1971.She studied in New York, at the Marymount High School, and later at New York University. After living in Switzerland, Paris and Mexico, Her Royal Highness now principally lives in Rome and Naples as well as in Southern France and Monaco. The Duchess is fluent in Italian, French, English, Spanish and Japanese.

The Duchess of Castro has always supported charity associations, including UNICEF and the Red Cross, and she is an active public figure, which promotes the arts, culture and sport of southern Italy. Her Royal Highness plays a prominent role in the national and international activities of the dynastic orders of the Royal House of Bourbon Two Sicilies especially those that relate to charitable and humanitarian assistance.

Their Royal Highnesses the Dukes of Castro have two children both born in Rome, H.R.H. Princesses Maria Carolina born on June 23, 2003 and H.R.H. Princess Maria Chiara born on January 1 2005.
