H.R.H Princess Maria Carolina, Chantal, Edoarda, Beatrice, Ianuaria of Bourbon two Sicilies, firstborn of Their Royal Highnesses Prince Charles and Princess Camilla, Duke and Duchess of Calabria, is now with us.
This happy event took place in Rome on 23 June 2003.
Princess Maria Carolina is the first child of the House of Bourbon Two Sicily to be born in Italy after the last King of Italy, Francis II, and his brothers.
Everybody knows that H.R.H. Prince Charles is son and heir of the Head of the Royal House of Bourbon Two Sicilies, H.R.H Prince Ferdinand, Duke of Castro, descendant in direct lineage from the Kings of the Two Sicilies Ferdinand II, Francis I, Ferdinand I (IV), Charles, restorer of the Kingdom and founder of the dynasty.
Charles of Bourbon was the son of Philip of Anjou, King of Spain and nephew of Louis XIV King of France and Navarre (the Roi Soleil) and Elisabeth Farnese, last descendant of the noble Farnese family. Therefore, the lineage of Princess Maria Carolina directly goes back to the Kings of the Two Sicilies and Kings of France, up to the Capetian Kings and the Carolingian Kings, in primis Charlemagne, founder of the Sacred Roman Empire.
