Prince Charles has decided to share this special day with those who have difficulties, offering them various medications.

A birthday full of love for the family, but also for those who have difficulties. On February 24th, H.R.H. Prince Charles of Bourbon Two Sicilies, Duke of Castro and Head of the Royal House, turned 56. The Prince has decided to celebrate privately, surrounded by the love of his family and close friends, but, on a special day for him, decided to make a gesture of solidarity in favor of the needy people.

Thanks to the good help of the Delegate of Rome, H.H. Prince Lelio Niccolò Orsini d’Aragona, the Sacred Military Constantinian Order of Saint George, whose Grand Master is Prince Charles, will donate 1.799 bottles of Proporal cough syrup for adults, 2.940 bottles of Proporal cough syrup for children, 176 Thermoplus bottle heaters, 444 Silver Cross thermometers, 476 Silver Cross digital thermometers and 152 boxes of 16 hypoallergenic assorted patches for children. All medications will be delivered to the Diocesan Caritas of Rome and to the Salvamamme Association.

Always very sensitive to current events and social problems, Prince Charles has expressed the desire to contribute through this donation, in a period characterized by flu peaks.

Caserta: discovering the art dedicated to the Royal Family of Bourbon Two Sicilies

The history of the city of Caserta, as well as that of many other cities in Southern Italy, is closely related to the Royal Family of Bourbon Two Sicilies’ history. The most famous and important proof of Caserta is, undoubtedly, the gorgeous Royal Palace of Caserta, built by the will of the King of Naples, Charles of Bourbon, ancestor of HRH Prince Charles of Bourbon Two Sicilies, Duke of Castro and Head of the Royal House, who often returns to those places that he loves very much, accompanied by his family.

The Royal Palace, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1997, is an extraordinary triumph of the Italian Baroque and the largest royal residence in the world. The ambitious project was entrusted to the architect Luigi Vanvitelli, who imagined an ideal fusion among those that at that time were considered the most beautiful residences, the Palace of Versailles and the Royal Palace of Madrid. The result was extraordinary, with nothing to envy to the examples on which it was inspired.

However, much of the charm that the Royal Palace of Caserta exerts on its public is due to the monumental park that surrounds it. An area of 120 hectares with grass, flowerbeds with flowers, but also pools, fountains and scenic waterfalls, which offer very attractive water games to each visitor. HRH Princess Camilla of Bourbon Two Sicilies, Duchess of Castro and HRH Prince Charles’ wife, particularly loves the park especially in the spring, when the scent of flowers accompanies those who walk in its boulevards, and has declared it several times.

Always very sensitive and interested in cultural heritage, the Royal Family decided to visit the Virgin Aqueduct on their last trip to Rome. A true secret treasure, also unknown to many of the city’s inhabitants, the Aqua Virgo Aqueduct or the Virgin Aqueduct is an extraordinary example of the architecture of the ancient Romans.

This is the sixth Roman aqueduct, the only one that is still operative and that extends below the district of Trevi, in the heart of the historic center.

TRH Prince Charles and Princess Camilla of Bourbon Two Sicilies, Duke and Duchess of Castro and their daughters, Princess Maria Carolina and Princess Maria Chiara of Bourbon Two Sicilies, wore waterproof, large suits rubber boots and a protective helmet, and without delay submerged in those tunnels, whose width is approximately 1.5 meters, admiring the 15 arches and listening to the history of its construction.

The Dukes of Castro are great lovers of history and art, and in their travels never miss the opportunity to enjoy visits to monuments and exhibitions. A passion that they have also transmitted to their daughters, who are always very enthusiastic about discovering what they have studied.

There are also numerous projects of the Sacred Military Constantinian Order of St. George, which are intended for the defense and improvement of cultural heritage in Italy and abroad.
