MONTE-CARLO GALA FOR THE GLOBAL OCEAN 2018

Monte Carlo, September 26th 2018 – TRH Prince Charles and Princess Camilla of Bourbon Two Sicilies, Duke and Duchess of Castro, participated in the 2nd annual Monte-Carlo Gala for the Global Ocean 2018 in Monte-Carlo, hosted by the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation. It was a major fundraising event in the heart of the city and supports its worldwide initiatives in favour of a sustainable ocean, a crucial issue calling for immediate and collective action.

HRH Princess Camilla of Bourbon Two Sicilies was a featured guest at Fashion 4 Development’s First Ladies Lunch, held on the sidelines of the Opening of the United Nations General Assembly. Fashion 4 Development(F4D) is a private sector global platform that supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and “Every Woman, Every Child” the UN Initiative spearheaded by Former Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon. The mission is to harness the power of the fashion and beauty industries and implement creative strategies for sustainable economic growth, wellness and independence of communities worldwide as well as the preservation of culture through the expression of fashion. Its guiding principles are the 4E’s: Educate, Empower, Enhance and Enrich. F4D’s tag line is “Giving Back is the New Luxury.” Fashion 4 Development’s First Ladies lunch is in its 8th year and honors some of the fashion industry’s most notable figures who embody the mission of F4D.

During the Opening Ceremony of the 2018 First Ladies lunch, HRH Princess Camilla made some remarks, together with F4D’s Founder and President Evie Evangelou, about the importance of cooperation across all sectors in order to better the living conditions of women and children in poverty.

New York, September, 23rd 2018. On the occasion of their trip to New York, TRH Princes Charles and Camilla of Bourbon Two Sicilies, Duke and Duchess of Castro, participated in the solemn celebration of the Feast of Saint Januarius at the Church of the Precious Blood. The parish is under the authority of the Archdiocese of New York and is the National Shrine Church of Saint Januarius. Many Knights of the US delegation attended, along with a large group of faithful people.

HRH PRINCESS CAMILLA VISITS THE ABUSED WOMEN IN NEW YORK

SalvamammeNew York, September 23rd, 2018 – HRH Princess Camilla of Bourbon Two Sicilies, welcomed by Ms. Michelle Ranelli, Program Director and Ms. Rachel Goldsmith, Associate Vice President of DV Shelters, visited the young women housed at the Lang House Shelter in New York. 

The initiative is part of HRH’ defense project for all women who have been victim of violence. Princess Camilla had the opportunity to meet many women with their children, talking with them about their personal history. Many of them have a traumatic past and are assisted daily by the center.

At the end of the meeting, the Duchess of Castro offered small gifts to these abused women, who were very excited for the occasion.

These were really touching moments for Princess Camilla as well, who is constantly on her way to support the weakest and most disadvantaged women.

To highlight this fact, the lunch will also feature a unique runway show whereby HRH Princess Maria Carolina will model some environmentally conscious fashion pieces from  “The Commonwealth Fashion Exchange” that was unveiled at Buckingham Palace, in the presence of the Duchess of Cambridge, during London Fashion Week last February. The sustainable designs are part of  Eco Age’s vision in partnership with Swarovski, the Woolmark Company and Matches Fashion. The project recognizes emerging artisans from across the Commonwealth’s 53 countries.Not your average fashion show, the project paired, for example, designers from India with those in Tuvalu in order to create unusual handmade products. These pairings created authentic partnerships that empower women while paying attention to ethical supply chains, innovation, economic growth and poverty reduction. These are important goals that align with the charitable actions of Princess Camilla and Her Family in Italy, throughout Europe and internationally.

Rome, September 7th 2018 – HRH Prince Charles of Bourbon Two Sicilies, Duke of Castro and Head of the Royal House, went to Venice from September 3rd to September 7th, accompanied by his wife, HRH Princess Camilla, Duchess of Castro, and his daughters, TRH Princess Maria Carolina, Duchess of Calabria and Duchess of Palermo, and Princess Maria Chiara, Duchess of Noto and Duchess of Capri.
During the visit, HRH the Duke of Castro met many local authorities, including Dr. Roberto Ciambetti, President of the Regional Council, H.E. the Prefect of Venice, Mr. Vittorio Zappalorto and the Police Chief, Mr. Vito Danilo Gagliardi, in addition to the Mayor, Mr. Luigi Brugnaro.
Moreover, HRH Princess Maria Carolina, accompanied by her mother, was able to attend the 75th edition of Venice Film Festival, where she appeared for the first time on the Red Carpet, along with many internationally renowned artists who were in Venice for the occasion.

“A Midsummer Night’s dream” event

Held at the Château Saint-Tropez, a private summer villa owned by TRH Princes Charles and Camilla of Bourbon Two-Sicilies, an exclusive evening, “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” attended by more than 300 guests, featured an elegant cocktail party followed by an intimate seated dinner. In a nod to Chopard’s involvement with the event, diamonds and long-standing white dress code were required and underlined the theme of the event: an unforgettable and romantic summer night.
Several distinguished guests attended, including Joan Collins, the Casiraghi family, Abramovich and Naomi Campbell.

During the evening, the models paraded wearing the latest Chopard Haute Joaillerie creations. TRH’ eldest daughter, HRH Princess Maria Carolina of Bourbon Two Sicilies, aged fifteen, made her debut with a magnificent Chopard creation, in the beautiful setting of the Château, where water games and sparkling lights enchanted guests.

DJ Jack-E, of Caves du Roy fame, launched the after-dinner festivities, with the cast of Dancing with the Stars, special guests of Princess Camilla, inviting everyone present to join them on the dance floor.

“I am particularly happy to have opened the doors of the Château Saint-Tropez to Chopard and to have hosted this prestigious event we celebrated the summer with” stated HRH Princess Camilla. “We choose to add value to Chopard, not only for its ability to combine the legacy of its own brand with respect for traditions but without renouncing to contemporary creativity, but also because we share with the company the essential values of our family such as ethics, the attention to social development, the protection of children and the protection of the environment”.

For the occasion, H.R.H. Princess Camilla wore a dress signed Georges Chakra and Chopard jewelry.

PRESS RELEASE – SOUTH EASTERN ASIAN DELEGATION

HRH Prince Charles of Bourbon Two Sicilies, Duke of Castro decided to establish a delegation in South East Asia in order to strengthen the Royal House of Bourbon Two Sicilies dynastic Orders’ presence. This delegation includes the following countries: Burma, Brunei, Cambodia, Philippines, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, East Timor and Vietnam.
On May, 1st 2018, H.E. Ambassador Antonio Benedetto Spada was entrusted with the role of Delegate of this new and important delegation by HRH the Grand Master. H.E. Ambassador Spada is also Counselor for the Royal House dynastic Orders and emeritus Grand Treasurer.

On their return from Palermo, HRH Prince Charles of Bourbon-Two Sicilies, Duke of Castro, Head of the Royal House of Bourbon and Grand Master of the Constantinian Order, and HRH Princess Camilla of Bourbon-Two Sicilies, Duchess of Castro, visited Rome, where they signed two important memorandums of understanding with the Bambin Gesù Children’s Hospital and the Salvamamme Association.

In the afternoon of 12 April, an important meeting was held at the Bambino Gesù Hospital Foundation, at which the Sacred Military Constantinian Order of Saint George committed itself to strongly support the social project for welcoming and taking care of the young patients. Also present at the event was the President of the Rome-based Children’s Hospital and of the Bambino Gesù Foundation Dr. Mariella Enoc, the Fundraising and Social Communications Officer of the Foundation Dr. Cynthia Russo, the Secretary General of the Foundation Prof. Francesco Avallone, and the Director of the Neurosciences and Neuro-rehabilitation Department Prof. Federico Vigevano.

In the morning of 13 April, Their Royal Highnesses Prince Charles and Princess Camilla of Bourbon-Two Sicilies, with the Princesses Maria Carolina and Maria Chiara of Bourbon-Two Sicilies, accompanied by HRH Princess Beatrice of Bourbon-Two Sicilies, were welcomed at the headquarters of the Italian Red Cross.

During the meeting the foundations were laid for a fruitful future collaboration designed to join the efforts of the Italian Red Cross and of the Constantinian Order, in Italy and abroad, in tackling the most important humanitarian challenges. Their Royal Highnesses were awarded the gold Order of Merit Medal in the presence of the President of the Italian Red Cross Association and of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies Francesco Rocca, Dr. Rosario Valastro and Dr. Gabriele Bellocchi, National Vice-Presidents of the Italian Red Cross Association.

In the morning of 14 April, HRH Princess Camilla of Bourbon-Two Sicilies, Duchess of Castro, was appointed World Ambassador of the Salvamamme Association. The mission of the Association is to help households experiencing economic hardship and women escaping violence. Thanks to the project “Nursery in Rete 2.0 & i bambini crescono” (2.0 Nursery Networking & Growing Children), 100 households will receive a full set of new clothes. The event was attended, at the organisation’s headquarters in Rome, via Bernardino Ramazzini 15, within the headquarters of the Italian Red Cross,  by its President Grazia Passeri, and its Honorary President Barbara De Rossi, as well as Debora Diodati, President of the Italian Red Cross for the Metropolitan Area of Rome, Monsignor Augusto Paolo Lojudice, Bishop of the Diocese of Rome South, and her daughters Maria Carolina and Maria Chiara. Prince Charles of Bourbon-Two Sicilies, Grand Master of the Sacred Military Constantinian Order of Saint George, will also be supporting the “Nursery in Rete 2.0 & i bambini crescono” project, as well as another Salvamamme project called “La Valigia di Salvataggio”.
